Great idea, now is the perfect time to start! There are many ways to offer your handmade wares online, but I recommend starting with Etsy. Joining Etsy is a great way to dip your toe in the selling waters without putting forth tons of set up time or costly fees. In addition to a fairly intuitive interface and reasonable fees, Etsy currently has roughly 40 million active buyers annually… that’s like a built-in audience! Etsy provides great advice and instruction for beginners, including articles such as How to Open an Etsy Shop and Learn How to Sell on Etsy to help you get started.
YOU RECOMMEND STARTING WITH ETSY, SHOULD I PUT ALL MY EGGS IN THE ETSY BASKET?
While Etsy is a great place to start, you should consider branching out to other venues too. A standalone website is always a great platform to sell on as you have full control of your content. You might also consider offering your wares on sites like Amazon Handmade or selling directly on your social media pages like Facebook and Instagram.
